The inauguration ceremony was held on 27-06-2016, Monday in the school auditorium at 2:30 p.m.
The Scouts and Guides beautifully decorated the hall. The Scouts and Guides flag was hoisted. Exhibition was arranged outside the hall. The craft work of the students, portrait of Baden Powell and his sayings were exhibited.
Mr. Bharath (District Organiser of Scouts/ Guides) was the inaugurator of this ceremony. Mr. Krishnamurthy (Secretary of Scouts/ Guides Local Association) was the chief guest. They were escorted by Mr. Vasanth Kumar Nitte, the headmaster of Alva’s English Medium High School, Mr. Prashanth, the Headmaster of Alva’s Kannada Medium High School and Mrs Uma Rufus, the Headmistress of Alva’s English Medium Higher Primary School.
The guests were hosted by Ms.Sinchana of class 10 and all of us received them with cheer and applauses. The guests were welcomed by Ms.Nikhitha.
The ceremony was begun by singing “the scouts and Guides Prayer” along with the musical instruments.
The Lamp was lit by the inaugurator and he was accompanied by the other dignitaries. The Guides chanted the Shloka, “Asathoma Sadgamaya…… “ very melodiously which created the devotional spirit amongst us.
The next important segment of this programme was “ the Scouts and Guides Promise”. The chief guest, Mr . Krishna Murthy proceed with this. He read out the oath. Pravesh badges were distributed by the guests. The School Prayer was sung by the students.
Mr. Bharath , the inaugurator delivered the speech. He quoted, “ The Scouts and Guides unit should be strengthened, more number of students should join and should attend the different levels of Examination “.
Mr. Krishna Murthy, the chief guest addressed the gathering . In his speech, he quoted that , “Scouts and Guides should be disciplined. Develop leadership qualities, co-operation and service mindedness”,
Mr. Vasanth Kumar Nitte, the headmaster of Alva’s English Medium High School inspired the students by his words . In his speech, he quoted, “Leadership can be developed by participating in the scouts and Guides activities.Camp-living help the students to do their work independently”.
Mr. Prashanth, the headmaster of Alva’s Kannada Medium High School delivered the speech. He inspired the students by saying the importance of scouts and Guides.
“Vote of thanks” was proposed by Ms.Ambika, and eventually the programme was wound up by singing the “ National Anthem”.
